The premiere of the Solaris 50 caused quite a stir at the trade fair in Düsseldorf in spring 2015. The beautiful and elegant ship from the pen of Argentinian designer Javier Soto Acebal has captivated with its sheer lines and impressed with its craftsmanship. The Solaris 50 was immediately nominated by the international jury of experts as European Yacht of the Year 2016. The comprehensive test will soon be published in YACHT.
The success seems to be inspiring. Now the Cantiere Se.Ri.Gi shipyard in Aquileia, Italy, has shrunk the same concept by one metre and is presenting a new Solaris 47, also designed by Javier Soto Acebal and with an almost identical look to its larger sister. The characteristics remain largely unchanged. This means: completely concealed sheet and line guides, consistent return of all functions to directly in front of the steering columns, a choice of self-tacking jib or overlapping genoa and a large garage for the dinghy in the stern behind a large, folding bathing platform.
The concept for the interior remains the same. The interior design envisages a layout with three cabins and two bathrooms. No alternative interior layouts are currently planned. However: Solaris can respond to special owner requests regarding the interior fittings in line with its semi-custom concept.
Dealer Dines Pontoppidan from Diamond Yachts in Laboe quotes a base price of 488,000 euros for the new 47. In comparison: the Solaris 50, which is around one metre larger but conceptually quite comparable, is offered for 571,200 euros.
Solaris Yachts is already working on the prototype of the 47. The boat is due to make its world debut at the boot trade fair in Düsseldorf in January 2016.
